Privacy Policy
What we collect (very little), what we never collect (your files), and how the website itself protects your privacy.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
hushleaf is made by Zenticor LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India (LLPIN to be added), with its registered office at available on request at support@hushleaf.app ("we", "us").
This policy covers the hushleaf website and web app at hushleaf.app (including the web app at hushleaf.app/app/) ("hushleaf").
The short version
- Your files never leave your device. hushleaf opens, edits and saves your PDFs and images inside your own browser. We never receive, see, store or upload them.
- No account. You don't sign up, log in or give us your name, phone number or email to use hushleaf.
- No tracking. There are no analytics scripts, advertising, cookies, fingerprinting or crash-reporting services in hushleaf.
- The only personal data we may receive is what any website host sees when you load a page (see section 3), and anything you choose to send us by email.
1. Your documents
When you open a file in hushleaf, the file is read by code running in your browser on your device. All work (viewing, editing, compressing, merging, signing, adding or removing passwords, resizing photos and so on) happens on your device. The finished file is saved straight to your device.
We have no server that receives your documents, and hushleaf contains no code that sends them anywhere. Because we never have your files, we cannot recover a file you lose, and we cannot hand your files to anyone, because we don't have them.
2. What hushleaf keeps on your device
To work properly, hushleaf stores a few things in your browser's storage on your own device. We cannot see or read any of it.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| A recovery copy of the document you are working on | So your work is not lost if the browser or device crashes | Deleted when you save or discard, or after 7 days. Never kept for password-protected files |
| Your settings (theme, animation on/off) | To remember your choices | Until you clear your browser data |
| The app's own files (offline copy) | So hushleaf loads fast and works offline | Until you clear your browser data |
You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for hushleaf.app. See our Cookie and Storage Notice.
3. What our website host sees
hushleaf's files are delivered to your browser by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), through its network of servers around the world. Like every website host, when your browser asks for a page, Cloudflare's systems automatically process technical information needed to deliver it and to protect the site from attacks, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time.
- This information does not include your documents or anything you type into hushleaf.
- We have switched off Cloudflare's visitor analytics and bot-check cookies. We don't use this information to identify you, build profiles, or for marketing. Cloudflare may block requests that look like attacks, which sets no cookie.
- Cloudflare handles it under its own privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ and keeps it only as long as that policy allows.
- Because Cloudflare's servers are worldwide, this technical information may be processed outside India. Indian law allows this except to countries the Government has restricted.
4. If you email us
If you write to us (for example at support@hushleaf.app), we receive your email address and whatever you write, including any attachments. Please don't send us your documents unless you really want us to look at one; we never need them to help you.
We use your email only to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation. We keep it for up to 24 months and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Our email is provided by Zoho Corporation (Zoho Mail).
5. Legal basis
Where we process personal data (sections 3 and 4), we do so because you chose to use the website or contact us, and for the legitimate purposes of delivering and securing the website and answering you, as permitted under the DPDP Act 2023.
6. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone for their own purposes. The only parties involved are the service providers named above (our website host, and our email provider), and authorities where Indian law requires us to disclose information we hold. Since we don't hold your documents, we cannot disclose them.
7. Children
hushleaf does not ask for or knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you are under 18, please use hushleaf with the permission of a parent or guardian, and please don't email us personal details.
8. Your rights
Under Indian law you may ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or nominate someone to act for you, and you may raise a grievance. Since we hold no data from the app itself, this usually only applies to emails you have sent us. Write to our Grievance Officer (section 10). If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Security
The best protection for your files is that they never leave your device. The website is served only over a secure (HTTPS) connection. Please keep your own device and browser up to date, and remember that anyone with access to your device may be able to see files you have saved on it.
10. Grievance Officer and contact
Grievance Officer: to be announced
Email: grievance@hushleaf.app
Address: Zenticor LLP, available on request at support@hushleaf.app
We will acknowledge your message within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days. See Grievance and Contact.
11. Paid apps (coming later)
The paid hushleaf apps will be sold through the Microsoft Store and Google Play. Your payment and purchase details are handled by Microsoft or Google under their own privacy policies; we do not receive your card details, and we aim not to receive your name or email. Before the paid apps launch we will update this policy to explain exactly what the store shares with us and whether the app checks your licence over the internet.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and show the new version on this page. If a change is important (for example, if hushleaf ever needed to send any data off your device), we will show a clear notice in the app before it takes effect.
